Mom Tortured , Assorted At Gunpoint By Gang Members

Gang Members who brutally murdered a 20-years old Mahogany Jackson facing trial.

According to a report by Law and Crime on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Birmingham community, five of the eight defendants charged in the brutal murder of 20-year-old Mahogany Jaquise Jackson were denied bond on Monday.

Judge Kechia Davis ruled that although Giovannie Clapp, 23, Blair Green, 25, Teja Lewis, 26, Si'nya McCall, 23, and Ariana Lashay Robinson, 23, did not personally pull the trigger, they each played a role in the young mother's protracted torture and ultimate death.

Jackson's lifeless body was discovered at an illegal dump site on the morning of January 15, just hours after she sent desperate messages to her family revealing that she had been kidnapped and pleading for them to send help without calling.

The vibrant 20-year-old, who leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter, had been shot in the head.

Following the grim discovery, police swiftly made eight arrests in connection with the heinous crime.
In addition to the five defendants denied bond, who face charges of felony murder, first-degree kidnapping, and first-degree sodomy, three others - Francis "Ace" Harris, 25, the suspected gunman; Jeremiah "Kodak" McDowell, 18; and Brandon Pope, 24 - have been charged with capital murder during a first-degree kidnapping and capital murder during first-degree sodomy. They are being held without bond.

The harrowing details of Jackson's final hours emerged during testimony from Birmingham homicide detective Mark Green.

A witness had reached out to police while investigators were still at the scene where Jackson's body was found, revealing that Harris had confessed to shooting the victim and identifying all those involved in the kidnapping.

According to the witness, Jackson had arrived at Pope's home on McMillon Avenue on the evening of January 14, believing she was going to spend time with friends.

Instead, she was met with a nightmare scenario that began with her being stripped naked, handcuffed, beaten, spat on, and sexually assaulted at gunpoint.

As the hours ticked by, Jackson's tormentors allegedly documented their sickening acts in a series of five videos.

The eight defendants appeared in various parts of the footage, with the first video reportedly taking place at Pope's residence and the remaining four at Lewis' apartment in southwest Birmingham.

In one particularly disturbing segment, Lewis was seen straddling Jackson while repeatedly punching her in the head.

The terrified victim reportedly pleaded with her captors, telling them they "had won" and begging to be let go.

Somehow, in the midst of her unimaginable ordeal, Jackson managed to send a series of messages to her family.

"I've been kidnapped," she wrote in one heart-wrenching text. "Send help. Don't call." Tragically, shortly after hitting send on her desperate plea, Jackson was shot dead.

"This was a horrific attack perpetrated against Miss Jackson," Jefferson County Deputy District Attorney Charissa Henrich said of the senseless brutality. "She was subjected for a period of time to - there's really no other way to say it - torture, which ultimately led to her death."
